This page sets out how ESL Champs collects and uses your information, how payments work, and what applies when you enrol in a course. It is written in plain English and applies to all students, parents and guardians who interact with ESL Champs or its website.

1. About ESL Champs
ESL Champs provides one-to-one English tuition primarily for secondary school students preparing for IGCSE, and for students preparing for IELTS prior to university entry. The Grammar Reference and IELTS Speaking courses are also available to adult learners with specific language development needs. All lessons are delivered online via Zoom by a CELTA and TEFL-certified instructor. The website is located at www.eslchamps.com.
2. Privacy Policy
When you book a consultation, enquire about a course, or enrol, we collect the following: your name (and student name if enrolling on behalf of a child), year group or age of the student, email address, phone number, school name where applicable, and payment details processed securely through Stripe or online bank transfer.
How we use your information
We use your information solely to process enrolment and communicate about the course, send invoices and confirm payments, provide progress updates, and respond to enquiries. We never sell, share or transfer your information to third parties for any purpose.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to understand how pages are visited. Cookies do not collect personally identifiable information. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
Data Security
All payment information is processed through Stripe using SSL encryption. We do not store credit card details on our systems. Your personal information is held securely and is never made publicly visible.
Your rights
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting tutor@eslchamps.com. We will action this within 14 days.
3. Payments
Payment options
ESL Champs offers two payment options. Full upfront payment receives approximately 5% off the standard course fee. The 50/50 option is at the standard fee — first payment 7 days before the first lesson, balance due before Lesson 4. We do not offer lesson-by-lesson payment. Access to the learning platform is confirmed after payment has been received.
Accepted payment methods
Payments are accepted via online bank transfer (Malaysia) or credit/debit card through Stripe. All fees are quoted and collected in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
Onboarding
Once payment is confirmed, you will receive a full onboarding message within 2 hours containing your Zoom link, platform login credentials, and your start date.
4. Refund Policy
ESL Champs operates a straightforward refund policy. A full refund is available if a student withdraws before Lesson 3. No refund is available after Lesson 3 has been completed. To request a refund, contact tutor@eslchamps.com. Approved refunds are processed within 14 days to the original payment method.
5. Lessons & Scheduling
Lesson format
All lessons are one-to-one, 60 minutes each, delivered online via Zoom. Face-to-face lessons are available by separate arrangement only. Lessons are conducted in English. Where the enrolled student is under 18, course communications will be directed to the parent or guardian.
Punctuality
Students are expected to be present and ready at the scheduled lesson time. If a student has not joined the Zoom session within 5 minutes without prior notice, the lesson will be forfeited.
Rescheduling
Students may reschedule up to 3 lessons during their course, provided at least 24 hours' notice is given by email. Rescheduling requests with less than 24 hours' notice will not be accepted and the lesson will be forfeited.
Tutor cancellations
In the unlikely event that a lesson is cancelled by ESL Champs, it will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed time at no additional cost.
6. Student Conduct
ESL Champs expects all students to engage respectfully and honestly during lessons. Abusive, disruptive or dishonest behaviour will not be tolerated. ESL Champs reserves the right to terminate a course without refund if a student's conduct makes it unreasonable to continue.
7. Course Materials
All course materials and resources provided by ESL Champs are for the personal educational use of the enrolled student only. Materials may not be reproduced, shared or distributed without prior written consent from ESL Champs.
8. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from enrolment or use of ESL Champs services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
9. Changes to This Policy
ESL Champs may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of ESL Champs services constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
